Black-ish follows the Johnson family, an upper-class Black family led by patriarch Andre “Dre” Johnson and his wife Rainbow. We watch the family move through life and deal with social, political, and personal trials.

10. Moon Knight (2022)

11. The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (2022—)

17. Star Wars: Andor (2022—)

Andor is a prequel series to Star Wars: Rogue One (2016), created by Dave Filoni, who also worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. We get to see Cassian Andor’s origin story, as he rises from a thief to a Rebel hero, preceding the events of the movie.

In terms of tone, Andor is different from the likes of The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett. It’s a more political, gritty story that sometimes takes dark turns. Certainly one of the best shows on Disney Plus if you’re looking for the darker elements of the Star Wars franchise.

18. She Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)

Tatiana Maslany is one of our favorite actresses of all time. After her phenomenal performance in Orphan Black (2013 – 2017), we initially weren’t so sure about She Hulk. But we shouldn’t have worried: Maslany is, once again, fantastic. In fact, we enjoyed this Disney Plus show much more than we thought we would!

We follow Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner’s cousin, as she transitions from attorney into a superhero. It’s a very entertaining show with an incredible cast of supporting actors.


19. Ms. Marvel (2022)

Iman Vellani shines as Marvel Studios’ first Muslim superhero! Ms. Marvel is a coming-of-age story that focuses on Kamala Khan, a high school teenager who struggles to fit in until she learns that she has superpowers.

Ms. Marvel was specifically created for Disney Plus and is part of what is known as Phase Four of the Marvel cinematic universe. The series also sets up the events that lead to the film The Marvels (2023), which will likely come to the streaming platform in early 2024.

We are big fans of anything Marvel, so we consider this one of the best shows on Disney Plus, which is definitely worth watching.


20. Alias (2001 – 2006)

22. Star Wars: Rebels (2014 – 2018)

Not sure where to start with all the Star Wars content on Disney Plus? Why don’t you have a look at Rebels. This animated series first premiered on Disney XD in 2014. It preceded the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, and centers on the Empire hunting down the last of the Jedi.

A ragtag crew of characters travels through the galaxy to support the rising rebellion. Most notably, the show focuses on Ezra, a teenager training to become a Jedi. It’s a nice introduction to the world of Star Wars spin-offs and series.


23. The Owl House (2020 – 2023)

The Owl House is a magical original animated series that is both highly entertaining and offers a lot of depth. The main character is Luz Noceda, a fourteen-year-old Dominican-American girl who gets sent off to a disciplinary camp but stumbles on a magical portal instead.

Having landed in a new fantasy world, Luz becomes a witch in training, despite not having any magical powers herself. We love this show for its found-family trope, queer representation, and wonderful visuals. It’s ahead of its time and offers a wonderful escape to anyone looking for one!

In 2021, The Owl House was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for “Outstanding Kids and Family Programming.”


24. Hawkeye (2021)
