2022 International Emmy Winners
The Primetime Emmy Awards (not to be mistaken with the Creative Arts Emmys) are mainly focused on American productions. However, there are many other fantastic film studios around the world that also make great shows. The International Emmy Awards were created 50 years ago to put the spotlight on their productions.
Below, we’ll tell you exactly which series won an award during the 50th edition of the International Emmy Awards.
Best international drama series: Vigil
Streaming service: BBC iPlayer, Peacock
Vigil tells the story of a crew member who mysteriously dies onboard the HMS Vigil. This is a submarine that’s responsible for providing a so-called nuclear deterrent.
When the sailor’s death is discovered, the Scottish police are tasked with solving the mystery. Specifically, chief detective Amy Silva is called in to find out what happened. She discovers some secrets during her time on board that have far-reaching implications. These affect not just the people on board the submarine but also the world above water.
One would be forgiven for thinking this series is based on the mysterious death of a crew member of the HMS Vigilant. Like the Vigil, this is a submarine that’s used for its nuclear threat. The resemblance is pretty striking, especially since the incident, which occurred in 2012, took place close to Scottish land. Nevertheless, a BBC spokesperson stated Vigil is “a fictional drama and is not inspired by or based on any specific real-life event.”

Watch All (Emmy-Winning) TV Shows With a VPN!
Watching all of the Emmy-award-winning series above requires access to different streaming services. You might have subscriptions to some of these services, and some are even free to stream.
However, several streaming services are only accessible in a specific geographic area or a specific country. Moreover, big streaming services, such as Netflix, often have different content catalogs in various countries. This means you could miss out on watching your favorite Emmy-winning series, even if you’ve got the right subscription.
But there’s no reason to worry! There’s an easy solution: use a VPN. A VPN can change your IP address to an IP address from any country around the world (provided the VPN has servers in that country).
Virtually all streaming services use your IP address to determine where you are. In short, changing your IP to “the right” address will prevent streaming services from blocking you (from viewing certain content) based on your location.
That way, you get to enjoy any movie or series you want to! Of course, this does require having a subscription to any paid streaming services you intend to use. Take into account that, for some streaming services, you need a local payment method.
How to download a VPN to stream your favorite TV shows
A great VPN for worldwide streaming is Surfshark. This VPN fulfills the two most important requirements for streaming: a large number of server locations (countries) and great speeds. The latter ensures you get to enjoy your favorite series without endless buffering, while the former is important to access streaming services from around the world.
